For few years now, I've been focussed on building Stratos Technology Inc. and also various projects through Whole Human Ventures Inc. which all underscore the importance of the Seven Worlds of Wellness and the integration of data-informed and intuitive paths to vitality.
What few people know about me is that I'm actively studying holistic health and wellbeing, including functional medicine, ayurvedic herbology and mind-body medicine, including breathwork, kundalini yoga and a plethora of meditation techniques. As someone who has experienced near-catastrophic health challenges, I'm deeply passionate about the nuanced needs of individuals living with complex chronic conditions and healing in connection to our emotions.
The oceans and mountains were a big part of my British Columbian upbringing - as was active spiritual introspection and questioning our cultural status quo. I found my community in university through the student newspaper, which propelled a quick and fast career as a newspaper reporter, covering just about every beat on the block! This experience paved the path to my next career, as a Senior Advisor and speechwriter to the CEO & Executive Team of my province’s largest corporation, BC Hydro.
During my seven years in the corporate world, I was also part of the team that launched Ethelo Decisions. I advised this entity as a Founding Board member for most of a decade and the company now has software clients and social justice partners around the globe.
When I entered the SFU Beedie School of Business, I saw a social impact opportunity in the art sector. I launched ArtsAlly, a subscription-based art platform designed to support hyperlocal art economies, with two technology partners. Sooner after I led its acquisition to Whole New Home (now Kabuni Technologies), which went publc during my role as Community Director there.
After closing my next software upstart, NXT Level You, on account of a mysterious health crisis, my entrepreneurial mission became intrinsically tied to personal health insight and empowerment. Parts of my story have been published in BetaKit, TechVibes, TechCrunch and Business in Vancouver, and I've spoken and keynoted at such events as the Women in Technology Awards, Startup Grind Vancouver & FuckUp Nights Vancouver, Venture edition, among others.
Over three years in Whistler, the worlds of integrative medicine, holistic wellbeing and entrepreneurial peak potential were further illuminated for me. I formed the Sea to Sky Startup Society, produced a conference, as well as focused on my own self-awakening in a myriad of ways...
